Not all NBA divisions are created equal.

Northwest Division

The Northwest Division is noticeably more spread out than the NBA's other divisions — making travel a significant factor throughout the season.

Note

• Portland ⇢ Salt Lake City is 600 miles.
• Portland ⇢ Minneapolis is 1,400 miles.
• Portland ⇢ Oklahoma City is 1,500 miles.

For each division, the convex hull is the smallest boundary that wraps around the cities, forming a polygon. The perimeter around the Northwest Division is 3,600 miles.

Pacific Division

The perimeter around the Pacific Division is 1,400 miles.
